The new year excites me and makes me want to buy five new planners, new calendars, new pens and those pretty little gold paper clips. Even though we use our phones for almost everything, it only feels like a new year if I have all of these special office supplies surrounding me.
This year I’m surrounding myself with something that has been around me for years. I realize that because I am a florist, I tend to never take flowers home for myself. I feel lucky enough to work around them all day long and forget about how beautiful they are sitting on a table or a small one on the counter, sitting pretty, so I can look at them while I wash the dishes. I also love it in magazines when I see beautiful flowers sitting on a bedside table. Although, these thoughts and images are wonderful but when you were florist you tend to forget and take the beautiful things for granted.
This year I’ve decided to change my tune! I also deserve something pretty in my home! I’m surrounding myself with beautiful flowers every day. I guess you could say that I bought myself my own flowers Subscription. When’s the last time you bought flowers just for you? This year I challenge you to go out and buy those pretty flowers and set them next to your bedside table or your dining room table. Make sure to add a teaspoon of sugar and a couple drops of bleach so you can enjoy them longer. You’ll be amazed at the smiles they will bring.
